What we do

Do you consult or advise non-profits on their Strategic planning?

Yes. We can work with the Founders and your Directors to work on a Strategic plan for your organisation.

Do you help non-profits in raising funds?

We assist in the Fund raising process by helping in budgeting, defining the Ask, pitch preparation, participation in meetings with Donors and addressing their queries on Financial matters. We can help you in being fundable and findable.

How do you charge for your services?

Being a non-profit organization ourselves, we charge for our services just enough to cover our costs. It is usually a monthly fee. We anticipate that as we work with more non-profit Partners our fees per partner would reduce year on year.

Our Process

How do you access non-profits data for Accounting and HR services?

We work out a process for sharing and storing of data with our non-profit partner depending on the nature of systems and technology used, nature of documentation, locations of operations. The process is defined with mutual consultations and documented in a Process manual.

Do you help non-profits in deciding what to outsource?

Yes. As a part of on-boarding, we undertake assessment of processes, their stability and adequacy given the size and nature of non-profit’s operations. This assessment is discussed with the non-profit organization’s management to identify areas with potential for outsourcing.

We are already working with other service providers – our CA, HRMS – what will be your value add?

Our value adds:

    1. We take ownership of whatever we undertake.
    2. We are proactive in our approach and not reactive.
    3. Being a non-profit ourselves we charge only to cover our costs and we expect the fees to reduce year on year and not increase.
    4. We help in using all the relevant features the platform is offering which the non-profit partner is not equipped to do.

How does Seva Tarang measure its impact?

The assessment of your back-office functions we undertake as a part of on-boarding process is converted into a Status card. This Status card has the score for each process. This is our starting position. In discussion with the non-profit partner, we revisit the Status card every six / twelve month to figure out the progress made in each process. This is a transparent process with the active involvement of the Non-profit Organization Partner.

Operational Capacity Building

Do you offer staffing services for handling back-office processes?

No. This is not a part of our offering.

Do you place your resources at our premises for service delivery?

As far as possible we offer services from our premises using technology. In exceptional situations we may place our resources at NGO Partner’s premises. Currently we can do this only for non-profits based in Pune.

Do you work on proprietary platforms?

As of now we use existing platforms available in the market. As we progress and gain some more insights into the operations and practices at non-profits, we may consider developing our proprietary platform.

Do you address the Reporting requirements of our CSR / Foundation donors?

Yes, we do. However, it depends on the terms of MOU, nature of Deliverables and Modalities of M&E. Also, it is a combined collaborative activity and we do not independently take on such reporting.

Before on-boarding any NGO Partner, we undertake a half day status check on various processes, their maturity, your pain points and needs. These are then categorized from high to low severity. NGOs decide on the priorities which translates into our Terms of Reference. We understand your short-term as well as long-term needs and suggest a progressive solution that is customizable according to your preference and budget.
